Contractor spotlight: Hayes Mechanical

Our contractor spotlight features contractors who have gone above and beyond to promote energySMART and educate customers on energy efficiency. They’ve provided our customers with excellent customer service, energy and money savings opportunities and other innovative solutions.




Hayes Mechanical, founded in 1918, is a full-service mechanical contractor and energySMART Contractor Circle installing member serving commercial, industrial and public sector clients. Hayes Mechanical services, repairs, maintains and installs all types of HVAC systems, boilers, piping and plumbing systems.

Since Hayes Mechanical became a trade ally with energySMART, they have assisted Nicor Gas customers in receiving over $200,000 in rebates for various projects, services and system upgrades. Projects they have implemented include high efficiency industrial burner replacements, boiler replacements, boiler maintenance, boiler controls and steam trap testing/repairs. Hayes Mechanical adds value for its clients through the energySMART program by identifying energy-saving opportunities that qualify for rebates and by providing step-by-step guidance through the program application process.

“The energySMART program has enabled us to help our customers move forward with more projects that, in the long run, will save more money, more energy and improve asset value in their businesses. Often times, allocating funding for projects of this nature can be a challenge, but the energySMART program has enabled many of our clients to move forward with various energy-saving projects or higher efficiency alternatives,” states Ryan Smith, account representative for Hayes Mechanical.
